After very complicated weeks, little by little we are adapting to what is called the new normal. Given that the virus is still here, all companies will have to make adjustments to their way of working, and real estate agencies will be no exception. So, let's review how real estate professionals work now.
The anti-coronavirus protocol is a necessity
Real estate agents are in contact with many people daily, including those who want to sell or rent their homes and those who wish to buy or are looking for a rental. This makes it necessary to establish an action protocol. Among the official measures, there are none that expressly affect real estate agencies, but the generally established ones can serve as a basis. That is, maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask. However, each agency can then establish its own measures.
More personalized attention than ever
In the case of real estate agencies, personalized attention adds value to their service, and now this personal attention is more important than ever. Many are already only working by appointment. In many cases, those who want to buy or sell must make an appointment with the agent who will assist them, and they will be received exclusively in the office, with no one else there besides the professional.
Changes in property viewings
Inevitably, viewings of properties for sale or rent will also change. The protocol, in many cases, involves disinfection. Before entering the property, the footwear of potential buyers and the real estate agent is disinfected. Of course, only one viewing will be carried out at a time; several potential buyers or tenants will not be together in the same house. Access to the property must always be with a mask, and before starting the tour, hands will be sanitized with hydroalcoholic gel. Furthermore, the agent will ask clients not to touch too many things inside the property. And once the tour is finished, the property will be disinfected.
Virtual viewings gain ground
As on-site viewings are now shorter and there isn't as much time to see the details, virtual viewings will become one of the best sales tools. The goal is that the potential buyer does not have to visit many properties before making their purchase decision, only going in person to those that truly interest them. To do this, real estate agencies are opting for video, so that the interested party can see the property in great detail, as if they were actually there. These changes are here to stay, but both industry professionals and clients are adapting well to the new normal, so it is expected that in a very short time these measures will be fully integrated into the daily life of the real estate sector.
